Working in BC

Level 1 Emergency First Aid or Worksafe BC OFA

Skills covered include:

CPR and breathing emergencies in adults; first aid for bleeding; sudden illness and injury emergency care skills for the occupational first aid provider. Meets British Columbia Occupational Health and Safety regulations (OH&S) administered through WorkSafe BC.

Working in Alberta

Standard First Aid Level C

Skills covered include:

CPR and breathing emergencies, AED; first aid for bleeding; sudden illness and injury emergency care skills for the occupational first aid provider.  Meets provincial, and territorial Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations; Federal Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) Canadian Labour Code; Canadian Occupational Health and Safety (COHS) regulation.

Course Details

  • CONTENT

    • The general public, Canadian business, industry and government agencies with employees that have an occupational requirement to be Standard First Aid trained.

  • TIME

    • 8:30am – 4:30pm
    • BC: 8 Hours – 1 day
      (Day 1 of scheduled course)
    • Alberta: 13 Hours – 2 days
    • Province Combo: 13 hours – 2 days

  • REQUIREMENTS

    • In order to qualify for recertification courses, you must have a valid existing First Aid certification equivalent to the one you are renewing.

Outcomes

After successful completion of the course, a permanent card valid for 3 years will be issued.

Additional Notes

Course starts at 8:30 a.m. Participants who are late may be refused admission.
Appropriate clothing is recommended (i.e. jeans, pants).
